Thought of Wisdom

Life is no straight and easy corridor along
which we travel free and unhampered,
But a maze of passages,
through which we must seek our way,
Lost and Confused,
Now and again checked in a blind alley.

But always, if we have faith,
A door will open for us,
Not perhaps one that
we ourselves would ever have thought of,
But one that will ultimately prove good for us.

The Caravan of Light – Al Mahmud

Translated by: Kazi Shihan Mirza

Our caravan is from the past to the eternity
Having reached here from the Badr through the Uhud
Being here after a long travel.
Who questions about our destination!
We already said the destination is the eternity.
Rise and fall of agonycould never sway us.
Our body is maimed.
The field of Muta became fertile with the drops of our blood.
Color of all blossomed roses is our blood.
Their fragrance is our exhaled air.
We have the noble Qur’an in our hand;
The sacred one that never let any believer to rest.
How can we then rest?
The goal of our journey is the golden entrance
which is not on this earth
We don’t care about our companions’ different looks;
Because our souls’ constant whispering that
We are a single body, a single soul.
Martyrs don’t have any difference.
We were born in this world to drink the sweet sip of martyrdom;
Some on rocky surface, some in shade of tent, some in desert, some in green field.

We are in the caravan since birth
which doesn’t have any end.
The sound of our marching never ceased
throughout 1500 years of ascent and decline.
How many comrades we left behind
beneath the surface!
Their graves will be humming one day like buzzing of bees.
We know very well that
After a false attempt to restrain us,
Satan disappears in the darkness.
Our faces radiate the ray of tomorrow’s dawn.
Our procession won’t take rest
In midst of fear and destruction.
Shahadah is in our flag,
This message of ours never let anyone to halt.
We also won’t halt.

Signs of Allah's Existence

O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous -  [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him].
Al Baqarah : 21-22

Several scholars of Tafsir, like Ar-Razi and others, used this Ayah as an argument for the existence of the Creator, and it is a most worthy method of argument. Indeed, whoever ponders over the things that exist, the higher and lower creatures, their various shapes, colors, behavior, benefits & ecological roles, then he will realize the ability, wisdom, knowledge, perfection & majesty of the Creator. Once a Bedouin was asked about the evidence to Allah's existence, he responded: ''All praise is due to Allah! The camel's dung testifies to the existence of the camel, and the track testifies to the fact that someone was walking. A sky that holds the giant stars, a land that has fairways and a sea that has waves, does not all of this testify that the Most kind, Most Knowledgeable exists?" [Ar- Razi 2:91]

Hence, whoever gazes at the sky in its immensity, its expense, and the various kinds of planets on it some of which appear stationary in the sky- whoever gazes at the seas that surround the land from all sides, and the mountains that were placed on the earth to stabilize it, so that whoever lives on land, whatever their shape and color, are able to live and thrive- whoever reads Allah's statement:

Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and [some] extremely black. And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colors similarly. Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Forgiving." (35:27-28)

Whoever thinks about the running rivers that travel from area to area bringing benefit, whoever ponders over what Allah has created on earth; various animals and plants of different tastes, scents, shapes and colors that are a result of unity between land and water, whoever thinks about all of this then he will realize that these facts testify to the existence of the Creator, His perfect ability, wisdom, mercy, kindness, generosity and His overall compassion for His creation. There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, nor there is a Lord beside Him, upon Him we rely and to Him we turn in repentence. There are numerous Ayat in the Qur'aan on the subject.

I Am a Blessing

Originally posted in Islamic Online University Blog

I am being blessed with an extraordinary life. The sick cells, the weak body and the Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ) are the elements of my life. The more the clock rotates; the more I become weaker and the more I see my mother’s tears.
heart which loves
It’s all about life; that sometimes my friends ask me how I manage to be the same old Abdullah , who was known to be the best amongst us, back in school. Many people around me consider my life to be dead. It’s because my life does not have any more rooms left for music, matinee, chitchats and anything with which I used to waste my time.
The elderly ladies, who pay me a visit never fail to whisper their worries to my parents, saying: “We wonder why your son Abdullah is bed ridden, he is just twenty two”.
I saw the turning point in my life, when the doctor told that I’ve developed with cancer.
Yes, cancer.
I know all of us have our own full stops. I also know that not all of us are blessed with signals for the arrival of our own full stops. Along with the pain of my sickness, Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ) gave me the power to bear them all; for He ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ) never burdens any soul beyond its scope.
I must say nothing in this world shakes me more than the tears of my parents and the loving hugs of my buddies. The love my heart carries for my loved ones softly kills me when I realize that I’ll have to leave them sooner or later.
Yet, I am the brave Abdullah, because I believe this is a Rahmah from Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ). At times, my heart recalls that wonderful Khutba, where the Khateeb said that the sickness erases the sins of a believer.
I am a blessing, alhamdulillah.
My supplications have got a higher degree, I am being blessed with little time to prepare myself for the Akhira. I know I will have a beautiful partner in the gardens of Jannah if Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ) is pleased with me. I am blessed to be repenting continuously. I am consoled to the core of my soul as I believe that many of my sins are dropping down just like the dried leaves that are falling off the tree.
I repeat, I am a blessing. Yet, I wonder… I still wonder, what makes this world to classify me as “The Unfortunate Youth”.

“O Allah, Make us of Your ‘Few’ Servants!”

Taken from www.suhaibwebb.com

From Kitab al-Zuhd by Ahmad bin Hanbal | Translated by Jinan Bastaki

When Umar bin al-Khattab radi allahu `anhu (may God be pleased with him) was walking in the market, he passed by a man who was supplicating, “O Allah, make us of Your ‘few’ servants! O Allah make us of Your ‘few’ servants!”
So ‘Umar said to him, “Where did you get this du`a’ (supplication) from?” And the man said, “Allah in His Book says ‘And few of My servants are grateful.’(Qur’an 34:13)” So ‘Umar wept and admonished himself, “The people are more knowledgeable than you, O Umar! O Allah make us of Your ‘few’ servants.”
Sometimes when you advise someone to leave a sin, they respond with “But most people do it, it’s not just me!” But if you look for the words “most people” in the Qur’an, you will find that most people “do not know” (7:187), “do not give thanks” (2:243) and “do not believe” (11:17). And if you look for “most of them”, you will find that most of them are “defiantly disobedient” (5:59), “ignorant” (6:111), “turning away” (21:24), “do not reason” (29:23), and “do not listen” (8:21).
So be of the “few”, whom Allah says about them:
“And few of My servants are grateful.” (34:13)
“But none had believed with him, except a few.” (11:40)
“In the Gardens of Pleasure, A [large] company of the former peoples, And a few of the later peoples.” (56:12-14)
Ibn al-Qayyim (ra) said, “Go on the path of truth and do not feel lonely because there are few who take that path, and beware of the path of falsehood and do not be deceived by the greatness of the perishers.”

Poetry 3

Palestine

Israel aint on my map, nor in my heart.
It aint even there, as much as our enemy tears us apart.
It’s army are killers, deserving no title of…soldiers.
Sick minds built to shed our blood with their folders.
Cowards, scream like women, confronted by stones.
Their tactics for information gain, to break and crumble bones.
Targets are babies, prisoners are boys and old men,
Using same old excuses, again and again.
They have no name where I am concerned,
For the horror and pain over years I have learned.
Animals, dogs have more morals and guilt.
For they don’t destroy lives innocently built.
Many may ask, well what about Palestinians?
My answer is this, most are civilians!
Those who bomb and those who shoot,
Have more likely been under ‘Israel’s’ boot.
Now tell me this, and be honest with me.
If you were their victim, then would you agree?
If they raped your sister in her own bed,
Shot your brother in the head,
Forced you too see one color, just red.
All you love, because of them are dead.
Then tell me, is attack of Gaza justified?
If you say yes, I know you have lied.
Is it fair? Is it ok? Is it ‘just’ a war?
What are these civilians dying for?
No human, no sane mind, can be comfortable with death,
Gaza massacred, children fighting for a final breath.
Protests are great and prayers are heard, but what now?
Who takes a stand and please tell me how?
If freedom loving America avoids this like the plague,
The fighters of terrorism, who know what’s on the next page.
If leaders remain quite, to this horror, this riot,
The people will search for a guide and supply it.
How long do you think the Muslims will slumber?
For when they come, they’ll bring down thunder.
And when they march they will strike fear.
And sad to say that time is near.
And when every Muslim feels an anger, the world will surely know.
This nation look out for each other, and they won’t always keep their profile low.
because if your home is invaded, surely you rise and fight.
You would not allow a killer to take down your family in the night.
And we call ourselves the strangers, the Muslims will unite.
And when and if the time will come, it will be a fair and equal fight.
No mercy will be shown, to ruthless forces who feel they can,
Delete the lives of every Muslim, woman child and man!
Gaza we are with you, Gaza we can see.
No media propaganda blinds the free.
You call on your brothers, your Ummah are here.
Allah chose the time, the location and year.

God is great…..and justice will be done without the help
of Islam’s enemies
