O month of Ramadan, slow down

"O month of Ramadan, slow down,
The tears of those who love you have flowed;
Their hearts, from the pain of parting, have ripped.
Perhaps a moment to say goodbye
will be enough to put out the fire of longing;
Perhaps a moment of repentance and return
will be enough to make up what was incomplete of fasting;
Perhaps someone cut off from the caravan of the accepted
will catch up;
Perhaps the slave to his own sins will be set free
Perhaps one who has deserved the fire will be freed forever;
Perhaps the sinner will be guided to winning the mercy of his Lord."
